About us

We are a group of volunteers who donate our time and skills to fighting internet crime, particularly that promoted through spam. We don't get paid, we don't accept any funding, and we pay any expenses out of our own pockets. There is no member list -- the resources of spamtrackers.org are available to spam fighters from sites like inboxrevenge.com, spywarehammer.com, spamtrackers.eu, complainterator.com, siteadvisor.com, battlespam.info, and numerous individual blogs, who have developed cooperative relationships in this common effort.

It was created in response to the shutdown of Castlecops.com. Many of us were volunteers in that site's SIRT/PIRT/MIRT programs. Without Castlecops, many of us lost the email addresses that identified us as part of that effort. In addition, it was difficult for many people to comprehend the concept of "volunteer," and they were even more befuzzled if we couldn't tell them we were "from" some place.

So we can now say we are from "spamtrackers.org," though we are getting most of the real work done through independent efforts that are documented in discussion forums, blogs, and wiki articles on the other sites.

We invite you to explore our Resource Links at left. If you arrived here because spam is getting you angry enough to want to take action, welcome to the fight. Even if you have no computer skills, there are people who are happy to help you learn what you need to know to be effective in fighting internet crime.
